451

If you’ve never read the novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, you have missed a good book. Bradbury died Tuesday but his many works and words will live for a long time.
Jump, and you will find out how to unfold your wings as you fall.
~Ray Bradbury

Why would God allow a bunch of fuck-ups like we humans to ever set a soulish foot in Heaven? If I was the best, the most moral, and the most righteous person on earth, I wouldn’t be making plans for eternity in God’s Heaven; He is smarter than to allow that to happen. The only reason it is Heaven is because people or their residual souls aren’t in it. However, if you are insistent on thinking that you are going to pass through St. Peter’s Golden Gates, all you need do is love God with all your heart and soul and everything else will take care of itself.

Have a good Thursday!

  1. Amen!

    • If I start a new church, will you come the hear me preach at least once? 😉
      Thanks, Alice.

      • Yes, I would come and here you preach at least once and maybe more.

      • Hi Alice,
Hope you can hang around for the snake handling and a picnic after services. 🙂
        Thanks, my friend.

  2. I don’t think about heaven, I also don’t think too much about hell. I like be here; on the earth.
    xo

    • Earth is good enough for me forever.
      Thanks, Jola. 🙂

  3. I think our hell will be when we finally ruin the lovely heaven we live in every day. The earth – she will fail under the strain she is under. The water supplies will run dry and the air will be fouled, the oil will be gone, the animals will be nailed to our walls and mounted over the fireplaces, the resources depleted… We are using up our heaven. The Native Americans had it right I am convinced. Each plant, animal and element has a purpose and a vital part to play in our life dance. If we could only see how wonderful and important this living breathing planet is we walk upon every day, we would get down on our knees and pray for her health.

    • Very well said, Tammy.
I just read a book where a group of the characters think they have died and come to heaven and heaven is the earth. They fear that someday the earth will be destroyed so they do all they can to protect it. Man can destroy faster than nature can adapt. Each plant and animal evolved in a niche that was left open for them and them alone. Once we break the cycle, it takes evolution too long to mend it and may drop in an occasional quick fix mutation which can be worse that the extinction. I got no one to pray to so I work and hope for the best.
      Thanks, my friend.

  4. Have not read Bradbury. On my large reading list.

Amen to what Tammy say’s. Wait till we see the water wars that will be coming in our future.
We don’t even know what we have here on earth.

    • Water, water, every where,
      And all the boards did shrink;
      Water, water, every where,
      Nor any drop to drink.

      Thanks, Mark.
